Gutter Accessories

Gutter Wizards offers a variety of accessories to make your no-clog gutter system as effective as possible.

Underground Dispersal Unit

Our optional Underground Dispersal Unit (or UDU) eliminates the need for a conventional above ground downspout extension which, in many instances, detracts from the overall aesthetics of the landscaping and generally proves to be bothersome during regular grass mowing or general gardening chores. The UDU eliminates the risk of falls and the possibility of personal injury by replacing conventional, above-ground downspout extensions near sidewalks, walkways, and especially areas that are frequented by children or seniors.

The UDU is installed with its circular top cover at grade level at least 10 feet from the gutter system's downspout. It is connected to the downspout with an underground flexible PVC tile and a PVC downspout adapter. During typical extended rainfall, water is released at below grade level.

On the occasion of a heavy downpour, the unit's top cover elevates above grade level and distributes the water flow in a circular pattern upon the ground surface.

DrainGuard

Over time, ceramic grit from shingles falls off and finds its way through your no-clog gutter system to end up in either your drain tiles, clogging your drainage system, or on your lawn, leaving dead grass and brown spots at the end of downspout extensions. With Gutter Wizards, Inc's exclusive DrainGuard, this will no longer be a problem. DrainGuard is designed to fit 3-inch by 4-inch downspouts and can be installed wherever convenient. Once a month or so, simply remove the collection basket, empty the roofing grit, and put the screen back in place. It's that easy!

Ice and Snow

Gutter Wizards offers optional Heat Cable to prevent damage from ice and ice dams. Don't confuse Heat Cable with Heat Tape. Heat Tape is a limited-life (3-5 years) that comes in predetermined lengths that can't be cut. Its thin wires are very fragile.

Our optional Heat Cable system requires no thermostat or resistor. It runs on 120 volts of electricity and pulls only 3 amps under load. As electricity flows through the conductive plastic core, the core begins to liquify. When the core reaches 140 degrees Farenheit, the core is completely liquid and the electric flow to the wires is shut off. The core solidifies when it cools to 80 degrees Farenheit and once again allows electric conductivity between the wires to resume the heating process. The Heat cable can be run in any length up to 250 feet.

Iceguard is Heat Cable attached to the roof that radiates heat on a timed self-regulating basis to combat the threat of ice damming. An ice dam forms when heat escaping from the house melts snow and ice on top of the roof. This water flows to the eaves and because the temperature is cooler there, it refreezes.

Winterguard solution is Heat Cable installed in the gutter trough that guarantees a free flowing gutter system throughout the winter season.
